I have been going through pictures of Caribbean beach weddings while dreaming about my own. I must say Colombians are really good to create lovely decorations! It’s yet hard to believe I will have a dream wedding in Colombia! When I’m looking at this photos from Colombian weddings I can not imagine having my wedding anywhere else! Colombia is a paradise of flowers and the florists are really handy. Exotic flowers are more rare in Finland. I just love flowers! I’m already a bit bored with traditional roses so this time I can get something else.

Kate dressed as a witch for Halloween – from the archives

Here’s a blast from the past to celebrate Halloween today, an old picture of Kate dressed up as a witch!

The picture is from 2007 and snapped outside London’s Mahkini club, where Kate attended a fancy dress party with with her sister Pippa (in the background).

Kate wore a sparkly witches dress, silver belt, Aquatalia boots, fishnet tights and a cape to complete her bewitching look!  We also love Pippa’s pumpkin orange dress and matching necklace too!

At the time, a source revealed that the girls tucked into rum-based ‘blood’ cocktails drank from ‘blood bags’ and hit the dance floor to throw some moves.

We just thought it’d be fun to share this photo (like us, you might not have even seen it before!)  We’re also pondering how the Middleton sisters are celebrating this Halloween.  Do you think Kate buys in sweets for the local trick or treaters in Anglesey? Pippa writes in her book, Celebrate, that she “frequently celebrates Halloween over a supper with friends.”  She continues, saying the day is a “wonderful excuse to let your imagination run riot with gory-looking food and special effects“.  Quite!

Rustic Beauty Registry Inspiration from Target + SMP

We’ve introduced you to our exciting collaboration with Target, where we have been playing hostess and living out our dream registries, one editor at a time. First up was Abby. C and her glittering take on Prep Chic and now we’re diving whole heartedly into Rustic Beauty. If you’re anything like me, Target is your go-to for everything from toothpaste to cocktail dresses. Since Target’s Wedding Registry is chock full of SO much goodness, we thought it’d be fun to play a little game. Now it’s time to cozy on up to our beloved Libby and her lovable husband Jim. Libby is our Director of Advertising at Style Me Pretty, and one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Hands down.

Libby… she’s a lover of cozy, folksy decor and everything burlap. She refers to her style as “granny-chic” and her home is filled to the brim with antiques from local flea markets. When she’s not antiquing, you can find her hosting parties for her and her husband’s large family. Also on her love list? Her favorite fur baby, Lily, who is just as much a part of the family. Her registry includes plenty of family style serving ware.

Jim… the man’s man who hasn’t met an outdoor space he doesn’t love. He is in his element outside, biking, hiking, doing yard work, chopping wood, skiing, golfing – you name it, he’s happily partaking in it all while wearing plaid. He is also a master on the guitar which pairs swimmingly with late night campfire sessions.

Now put those two personalities together and set them loose in Target’s Wedding Catalog and the result is a mix of pieces that they can’t live without. MOVIE WEDDING DRESSES

Ever since I did the post on Grace Kelly’s white dress in To Catch A Thief  and how it makes for the perfect wedding gown I have received tons of emails from brides to be asking for suggestions of other old movies which have some good dresses that could be copied by either a wedding dress designer or seamstress. It just so happens that I love watching old movies and am totally obsessed with one of the greatest style icons ever, Grace Kelly. Here are my suggestions for wedding gowns from vintage movies that could be made into a beautiful wedding dress.

Grace Kelly’s Gown In High Society 

The soft skirt with the metallic embellishments is what makes this dress a winner in our eyes. I love the long sleeves yet with their sheer quality it adds some drama.

Audrey Hepburn’s Dress In Sabrina

One of the all time classic love stories is the story of Sabrina. This gown might not be a traditional wedding gown with its black detail but if you are getting this made you can have these details done in white or ivory and then you have one amazing gown.

Audrey Hepburn’s Dress In My Fair Lady

This gown is fit for a royal affair and with the beading and the crystal elements to the dress no bride will feel less than a queen.

Grace Kelly’s Dress In Rear Window

Again, this dress might not immediately just out at you as a wedding gown given the fact that the top half is black but you can get this dress made in all white or if you are looking for a great way to mix and match have the top half of the dress done in a light blush color with an ivory skirt.

From Deborah Zoe… Emma and Jon are from the Baltimore area and after visiting the Cape on a vacation they simply fell in love with the historic charm of the seaside region. They knew that this was the perfect area to tie the knot and planned a destination affair on the Cape for their family and friends. They were married at the First Parish in Brewster, just down the street from Ocean Edge Resort where they held their reception. While Emma paid close attention to her elegant details the wedding had a relaxed and intimate feel and the day was shared by their closest friends and family.
